Years ago when my new '91 1200 was not performing properly. The dealer cured it when they discovered a 'burr' on one the carb jets.

Wow, that's doing some really good diagnosis. I've found that clogged pilot jets cause more problems than any other issue, especially if a bike has sat for any extended time.
