Default Riding 2-Up on 883's

My girlfriend has been harassing me to buy a good 2-Up for my solo seated 883R. I was just wondering how many of you ride 2-Up on 883's and if you have any suggestions or concerns. I dont want to be one of those guys you see go by on a small engine bike with two tub-asses on it and everyone goes "ooo that poor bike!" I weigh about 210 and the ball-n-chain weighs about 185 (i think i actualy have no idea).

If I did buy one it would probably buy the Badlander with a short sissy.

I rode uphill with four adults on a 135cc scooter in India. It was slow, but it got us there. 883cc for two people really won't be a problem. Sure you won't accelerate as fast, but you'll still be able to go highway speeds.

If you're going for looks, then Badlander with the mini sissy would be great.

If you're going for comfort, then go with a Sundowner seat with a low sissy bar.

I have a backrest pad for a low sissy bar for sale (the one in my signature pic). PM meif you're interested.

I just sold my sporty last year. The wife and I had put a Harley touring seat on it.
Rode it for 2 years with that setup. That makes a big difference. She used to call the
stock seat. (THE SEAM SPLITTER!)

The bike can handle it but both of you won't be too comfortable. If you do alot of two-up you'll probably get a bigger bike in the near future.

The engine had handle that with no problem. The suspension on the other hand will probably be pretty much like riding a hardtail. I weigh 195 my 883L can handle up to 300 pounds of passenger weight pretty well. But over that, it's not good. I think that works out GREAT!!

No fat chicks on my bike!!! [sm=lildevil.gif]

This is the best point here. The engine is fine, I ride 2-up with my wife 110lbs her, 165lbs for me and I had to buy progressives to reach an acceptable level of rideability. On the stock shock set to 5 (hard setting) it would not bottom out but the suspension would bounce off little bumps in the road and hurt her back and my patience...lol

With the progressive, I went standard duty 12" and set it on 3rd of 5 settings and we have a much more pleasant ride!
