Need quick help
I know this is something I should figure out on my own, but I am stuck in a bind here. The navy's making me move tomorrow, and I was going to drain all the fluids from my bike this morning, but my car got broken into and I got a bunch of stuff stolen, so I was occupied with that all day. It's 11pm now, and I'm rushing to get everything together before the movers come tomorrow morning, and I can not figure out for the life of me how to drain the fuel from my '07 Sporty. I really don't have time to spend looking around the internet and the manual says nothing about it. Anyone mind helping me out really quick?
Thanks

Underneath the engine is a tube with a clamp on it that is held up by a clip. Pull that hose down off the clip and undo the clamp and your engine oil will drain. Reverse this procedure before putting new oil in.
Good luck, and sorry to hear about your nightmare yesterday!

I know its not the answer you were looking for .......I wouldnt have drained the motor oil........I see no advantage of that...........on the gas I would of got some stabil aid and dumped in the tank and ran it long enuff to get it in the system........just my 2 cents worth

Sta-Bil is great stuff! Get it at any Walmart or auto parts store. It works great in my lawn mower which sits idle 9 months of the year, no more than 3 pulls to restart in June.
If you drain your gas from the system you'll most like find your system leaking when you re-fill because all the gaskets have dried out. Since you've drained your oil already, I'd refill with fresh oil for storage.
Good Luck.

I am sorry! I didn't catch the word "fuel" - DOH!
I agree, DON'T leave the gas tank empty! As recommended above, put some Sta-Bil in and FILL the tank. An empty tank will develop condensation as temperatures fluctuate and after a while rust will form. Unfortunately, this does not take a very long time.

Eh, I just siphoned it. The problem with those ideas is that the navy required that I drain the oil and fuel and disconnect the battery for them to transport it for me. I didn't really have any choice. But whatever, siphoning worked well enough. Couldn't get all the gas out, but they were happy with it. Thanks for the input though. Can't wait to get this thing away from padre island where I don't have to worry about it getting caked in salt just from being exposed to the air for 5 minutes...
