What if I stall the engine while it is in gear? Would the bike immediately stop? or will itcoast? Just trying to prepare myself when this happens.

It's going to "buck" you. Think of the PBR. (No, not Pabst.=P)

Not enough to knock you off, but you'll be grabbin' that clutch quicker than a kid does toys on a shopping spree at Toys R Us!

It would coast down just a bitfaster than just letting off the throttle especially as you have FI as almost no fuel is injected during deceleration, a carb will put some gas thru during deceleration so the difference would be more pronounced but no big deal.

Thank you for all your response. One more question for today.

My bike is brand new, so after it is warmed up, it has this paint smell to it. Is this normal? Maybe I am describing the smell wrong.

If it's new, it's probably just the pipes. New pipes tend to have a funk to them once installed... Or once the bike is brought home. (If stock.)

As long as you've got no smoke/steam, you're good brotha.

That smell is normal. It's the various oils and coatings on different parts burning off. It goes away after a while. Enjoy your new ride!

You are not likely to stall if you have any significant speed. Very low speed stalling will stop the bike quickly and can quickly dump you if you are in a turn.
