Default How to check if your bikes recalls have been fixed?

Anyone?

I just returned from a quick trip to lowes. On the way the bike was spitting and spuddering. when I came out of the store it didn't want to start. The fuel injection was not cycling. It was not doing the 20 sec. buzz thing.
I pulled the seat, disconnected the computer and reconnected it. It then cycled and started, but spit and spuddered on the way home.

This seem's to have come on out of the blue. Last ride the bike ran perfect!

Any idea's?

From what I've been told, the HD Service Department should be able to enter the VIN and it will show all service that has been performed on that specific bike.

Thanks OFG!

I was affraid of that.

I remember hearing about a fuel system recall, but forget what the actual problems/symtoms were.

Only one recall for the Nightster indicated here. There are two others for other Sportster models. None of them deal with your issue.

How many miles do you have on your Nightster? Any other similar problems since you swapped out the pipes?

Almost 7000 miles, the bike has ran fine for the last 5000 with the pipes and thunder max efi.

This seem's like it is caused by a drop in fuel pressure or at least fluctuation of the fuel pressure

While the above site lists Factory Recalls, it does not seem to address Service Bullitins. Recalls usually address safety issues while Service Bullitins address the other types of problems.

Its not a recall Its a service bulletin Something to do with Elec fule pump Part Number & letter code Under gas tank where fuel linego's into tank Letter AorB with numbers are orginal letter C is up grade on late 07Sportsters all 08s . Symptoms sound same as what your experiencing. Read about it here on a POST think around Oct 07 Dealer fix free of charge they replace with upgrade.

That's what I thought! Guess I'll call the dealer in the morning and see what's up. Hope it doesn't cost me. right now that would cut into front end money.

To bad I can't focus good enough this eveningto read if it's A,B or c [sm=icon_guiness.gif]
