Default forward controls

I am considering putting forward controls on my 2000 XLH 1200-- I would appreciate any feedback from anyone who has them- Are they fairly easy to install for someone who is fairly mechanical? Should I get The harley controls or others such as Kuryakyn. I am really getting anxious for the nice weather to arrive so I can ride[&:]

No problem...If you buy the Harley parts they will fit exactly...had mine on and off a couple of times for polishing. (2000 1200C)

Rick C.

ps..Kuryakan makes cool stuff but the last thing I bought from them needed modification to fit right...

my 06 883L has them and I absoutly love them. it makes the ride a lot more comfortable. I would get the harley that way you know they fit right. I was lucky my bike had them on it when I bought it. Have a fun and save Summer!

I put some 2" extended ones on my '02. (Can't remember the brand) Was very easy to do, using common hand tools. I thinkg the hardest part of the whole thing was removing the shifter peg.

Hey CrashX (or anyone),

Any chance you could scratch your head and come up the brand? The forwards I have on my '02 1200S (came that way used), are just too cramped and I'm looking for a way to put extensions on or replace them with a new extended set of controls. Any idea who makes either? Looked thru the major catalogs and searched on-line, but couldn't find any - could've missed something though.

Thanks in advance.

Chip

Mine already had them. Love em.
I went ahead and put highway pegs on too though. Just for another option of a position change on a long ride.

I just took the forwards off my 2000 and I can believe how much better it feels with mids and it's a lot more fun to ride, I love to be able to tuck my knees in again.

Had them put on my wife's when we bought it, part of the deal. She likes them. Putting Highway pegs on hers this weekend. It will give her another leg option. We had thought about floor boards, but going to wait, as she may trade her sporty, a Heritage has caught her eye. She calls her sporty now her Heritage Lite.
