I am thinking about switching back to mid controls on my 2000 fxdx. i dont have the stock parts anymore and have been looking on feebay. will newer yrs 06 + fit on the 99-2005 models?
I did the forward to mid swap on both my 06 and 00 Dynas, the parts do look exactly the same, and I have heard they are compatible. Im not sure if they are, but it sure looks like they will.
Cross reference the forward control kit part numbers for both years, and the mid control part numbers on Ronnies HD and see?
I went to forwards and did not like it, fortunately I saved the old parts and powder coated them before I reinstalled them, the parts are pretty common and can be found on eBay all the time!
by looking at fwd mount on HD it looks like they fit from 95 - 13 so i would think its safe to assume the mids will work also. I forgot to look last night in my parts bin if i still had any of my orig pcs. think i will just take my chances and by a set up for mids.
Notz- my fwds are pretty worn out. needs new bushings and they are aftermarket from v-twin and ive had them pwdr coated black. been on bike a long time. if i switch out soon Ill let you know.
well it figures that after i buy a set of mid brackets off ebay i come home and find mine looking for some other parts. all i am missing is the brake rod. i even have all the parts for through the primary. i'll keep digging and maybe the brake rod will turn up.
I have been looking for a set of mid controls for months.
Anyone run across a set please let me know. It is for a 2005 super glide.
If you want to sell the brackets let me know.
