Default Another tranny/primary oil question...

Can't find any Mobil 1 75/90 locally, found some on-line but there's a minimum order of 5 litres at around $120...the local car mart has it's own brand 75/90 semi synthetic at around $5 a litre but don't know any bikers who have used it, so no feed back on that.....should I just order some Formula + from the nearest Harley shop?......cheers.

Have you tried calling Mobil UK for retail location info.?

UK & Ireland Customer Care
Mailpoint 300, ExxonMobil House
Ermyn Way
Leatherhead
Surrey, KT22 8UX

Tel: 020 7136 1798
Fax: 020 7026 4728

Any reputable brand 75w90 synthetic Gear Oil should also be fine.

Formula+ is OK, and definitely better than running Syn3 in there. But, I would still prefer a top quality Synthetic over the Formula+, I find it shifts better and quieter.

I was told to use 20w50 not 75/90 in Sportsters before 2004. I had asked about this the other Day. Look back in the previous posts it should be in here. I am getting a 2001 Sportster 1200.

My owner manual says to use H-D Sport-Trans fluid....all I can find out about this oil is that It Is semi synthetic, can't find an SAE number for It.
Is there a difference in the clutches pre and post 04's?

I saw 1 guy post to that effect, but it makes no sense to me. Back before Formula+, Harley recommended Sport-Trans Fluid in the Primary/Tranny on Sportsters and it was an 80w Gear Oil. Go with the Gear Oil is my recommendation.
