I've got almost 8 grand in mine (not counting the bike).... But then again, I don't plan on getting rid of it, so the money put into it doesn't really matter....

I've got it just about where I want it so now I may be able to go to a movie or out to eat finally...[8D]

Or maybe even some new jeans....

Looks like a very good price to me, especially when you consider you are moving up the 41mm tubes that have chromed uppers/lowers.

Apparently the rake isn't increased, so it should be a straight 'bolt on' upgrade, without any concern about having the trial dimension increased or decreased.

You would need to check and make sure the stock front caliper would work (mounting bolts), or if you would need to go with a different caliper. I assume the 'kit' includes a new front axle and spacers...

I'm running 41mm tubes on the front of my Sportster, and it does wonders to 'firm up' the front end.

Anyway, that's a nice looking front end..

Just a word of caution. Make sure these are made for your year bike. Last year I bought a raked wide glide front end for my '07 bike. The trees were made to fit an '04 or before bike. So they didn't fit. But they came from a different, un-namedcompany (name sounds like Semen Cycles). They didn't take returns very well, so I had to sell them at a big loss.

Just make sure the trees will fit your year bike.

That kit is made by Mid USA and is sold by lots of ebay vendors from $300-500, matter of fact Demons Cycle and KC international both sell it as well. I've contemplated trying one myself but....I've read on various forums like XLF, Jockey Jornal, Club Chopper etc.that they dont always fit well without some work and often internal forkstops dont work on sportster frames on to mention it is sometimes necessary to get different year brake cailpers/rotors or spacers as well as wheel spacers to to get stock ones to work. Just be cautious as none of the vendors accept returns and many times you dont get what you want (wrong length legs or rake). If I do it I will likely just get and HHI, Pro-One or Accutronix setup as they're more reputable (pricey too). With HHI you may being paying a lot for their stuff but it comes with all needed parts quaranteed to work.

Most of the 41mm WideGlide front ends I'm aware of have a different caliper mounting configuration that won't work with the stock caliper of the later Sportsters.

My stock rotor was fine, but I had to go with a larger upgraded 4-piston caliper because of the mounting setup.

Also, I received 2 different front axles (one for use with the stock Sportster wheel/tire, and a second in case I wanted to use a Dyna WideGlide wheel/tire), but the spacers they furnished weren't that great. We ended up making our own spacers that fit the way they should.
