Default Reflective Helmets in West Virginia?

Can someone tell me ifreflective helmets are required in West Virginia? If so, what do I need? I'll be riding into that beautiful state soon and need to know about that. I get mixed messages. I'm from Virginia where there we have is no such provision.

Thanks in advance.

Anything reflective helps, but I don't think they would be required.

LOL! Yeah, that is of course unless you paint "FARM USE" across the tank....then no helmet at all!

Seriously though, Nope. Only DOT helmets required

Where are ya riding? Alot of good roads around here....especially comin from the Va. way.

As WVleo and 2kanzam pretty much told you, you only need a DOT approved helmet. Although,a lot of riders in WV get by using the novelty helmets, myself included. As long as your not being an ****, the cops will leave you alone.

Thanks for the helmet info., everyone. Glad to hear I can get by with my Va. helmet as necessary. I thought it was strange, but a couple of sites give wrong info, apparently. I try to avoid police stops for whatever reason. I am very much against the payment of any such tribute to the state and avoid it whenever possible.

2Kanzam, I'll be riding from the Shenandoah Valley to the Dolly Sods Wilderness Area then south through the Monongahela National Forest and back. They tell me it is a good ride. I'll take my camera. I love your scenery.

Definitely a GREAT ride! Camera is a must. I would guess you would be comin south on via 220/55 and 28/55 to get to Dolly Sods? So you should be passing Seneca, which I love. If you have the time, stamina and desire you might wanna walk to the top of Seneca Rocks. (I USED to be able to get to the top in 25 mins at a very brisk pace).

I don't know how you are getting back (or there) but I LOVE the ride through 33 from Judy gap to Brandywine, WV........and check the weather for Dolly Sods. It can get FREEZING up there even in the summer.

That is the route exactly, 2kanzam, out and back. You know your way around, don't you. Glad your recommendation is that it is a GREAT ride. Thanks for the tips on Dolly Sods temps as well asSeneca Rocks. I'll be ready for a hike about that time and might do Seneca. I'm really looking forward to the ride and plan to do it in a couple of weeks when the weather is right. I really love the scenic rides.

I ride a red '07 1200 Custom and I'm ready for a good ride now that we are finished with winter.

Thanks again for the insights on that route.
