Pipes and jetting, Stage 1 should do it for you. You should experience a great difference. I would not go to a 1200 at this early in the engine life. My XL883 Sportster would carry me (215 plus gear) and the wife (120 plus gear) with plenty of power. SE II slip ons and jetting is all.

I have ridden my 883 for hours and hours at a time at 75mph or faster.

I weigh over 250 lbs. I have had my bike over 100mph with me on it. It has the stage one stuff done to it and has plenty of power for me.

I did the 883 to 1200 but did it through the local dealer. It's a lot better now but my only real complaint is the lack of a 6th gear, just feels like I should have one more for the highway. Great upgrade if you're considering it.

Just got back from a 300 mile ride on my 883. It has always had plenty of power for wife and me or just me. Your symptoms sound more like your gas may be old (easy fix) or you may have a bike that had old gas sitting in the carb for too long and has it gummed up (not too hard of a fix). If you haven't done so yet, try changing all the fluids (gas, oil, transmission fluid),install new spark plugs, and see if it doesn't run likeit should.

Not normal, unless you are both kinda heavy.

I can hit 100 anytime I want. No problem. Been up to 112, but that was on a track.

In your case a free breathing air cleaner, free breathing exhaust, and a rejetted carburetor. Lots of suggestions on the forum...you can do a search. It basically allows more efficient air and fuel combustion resulting in more horsepower. There are many products out there to accomplish this. The stock EPA compliant system is restrictive.
