the only plus side is the superglide has a 96ci motor and a 6speed trans with a bigger tank. so consider your type of riding because a superglide and 1200custom are very close in price but some people are happier on sportys

 

Who do you ride with? If it's a bunch with big twins, you may feel looked down upon. Sportsters always seem to get the "baby of the family" rap, from the BT crowd. If that bothers you, go for the BT. But from a guy who's had BT's and Sportsters, I will tell you I miss my XL1200, currently own a FLH 80". The XL just fits more with my style of riding - which is mostly commuting to work, the occasional 100 miler and the once or twice a year longee. And I don't really ride with a group, mostly solo. Here's the thing, if you get influenced by others because you think their bike is better, you will never be happy. I'm 6'0" and 255 and a sportster with forwards and mini-apes is the way to go, IMHO.
