Default replacing XL 1200 fender

I need to replace the rear fender on my 2007 XL 1200R, the service manual is on order and I'm trying to determine if I need a jack to do the job.

Do I need to remove the rear wheel to change out the fender?

Will a Nightster fender fit a 1200R?

Thanks for any advice in advance.

I replaced mine without jacking it up. It was a piece of cake. No need to remove the wheel. As for the fender fitment. I used a custom Sporty fender off of a 2006 on my 2007 Nightster and it fit fine. I am sure it will work great. Good luck.
