Default 07 nightster wont start???? (possibly a relay???)

lately my 2007 nightster had been reluctant to start, I'll have to rock it or bounce on the seat,
to however nothing worked to start the bike all I get is the starter relay clicking so what I did was I switched the 2 relays (starter and ECM I think) and the starter worked just like she should, but the bike wont start,
I;m assuming that's because the relay that's in the ECM spot (the original starter relay) is not working,
but I just wanted to check with all the knowledgeable people here before I go and spend $20 bucks on a relay that I might not need,

anyone have the same problems?
or can anyone tell me if I'm right in thinking the starter relay is shot??

thanks
J-P

If the starter didn't work prior to swapping the relays and does now it is a safe bet the relay is bad.Swap them back and see if the starter quits working again.

I did that a few times and every time I swap them the starter works.
I figured its a bad relay but I just wanted to get some opinions,
this is my first bike so I dont know much about them.

If it works on one relay and not the other and the relays have the same part number on them it is bad.

Default Clicking starter relay solved... Tx to all!

Just want to Take the Time to thank the forum and it' s passionate HD riders. I had a uge problem with my relays. The bike did not run for 2 years. A new battery was put on. Everything should have been ok, everything checked. The Beast didn't start... Always a clicking sound at the starter relay... Swaped it with the other one, to no avail. I tested on the bench the relays: perfect. So... The next step was to check the curent at the starter... While trying to start for the xx time the engine, i pushed on the fuse block... And the Beast woke up like a dragon! Here it is: one of the pins (the number 5, in reference to Electrical diagnosis book, OR one of the pin that we use to see if there is continuity while the relay is energized) BARELY touched the femmal section IN the fuse block. I was able to replaced the connector without pulling out totally the fuse block (which is a pain in the... bc one has to dismantle the plastic gizmo that holds the fuse block!!). Now , the Beast starts everytime.

But without that forum, and the one specialized on Sporters, i maybe not have been able to find the cure. So tx to all, and hope this comment will help someone else.
