Step back, and take a deep breath...It`s a 24year old machine, be prepared to spend some time taking care of it.

Those components are powered by the accessory circuit.

Check the accessory fuse.

The problem is in the accessory circuit, just for the hell of it, check the accessory fuse again...

Do you have a voltmeter?

when you turn the bike on the taillight comes on but does not do anything when you hit the foot break or hand brake. just tore tank off and found pinched wire that kept blowing my accessorie fuse, threw a fusse in and now it dont blow as soon as i hit the key, But still no tailight.

I have a different problem with my lights. Everything works except for the back running lights, but the turn signals work which makes me think it's not a bulb. I changed all the fuses and the breaker under the seat is not tripped.
Anybody have an suggestion?
Reply: i have same issue at under 4000 miles... I checked under the fender, tested tail ckt board, excess dielectric grease, etc. All was good. I'm cocluding that the filament can't handle the heavy vibrations the way some ladies do.

I'm gonna check out heavy duty lights, possibly LED if that doesn't work.

Who all is going thru this issue? Is this why theres so many older models sitting in garages with low miles?
