I am going to buy new exhaust in the next week for my Sportster. I am split between short shots and big radius. There is about a $250 difference.

I really like the way the big radius looks on dynas and softails, but I am not sure it would look right on a sportster. The only picture I have found with a sportster, it looks like the pipes don't curve that much.

 

Compare these two. They look almost like the same exhaust; definitely not that much curve in the big radius. I'm not sure if the difference is worth $250.

 

A friend of mine has those on his Night Train...they weren't available for Sportsters when I got my bike. I'm kind of glad I didn't get em, although, I'm kind of looking for some new pipes now.

 

if you get new pipes are you going to sell the side shots? if so let me know i totally dig side shots!

 

Probably not. I like to keep extra stuff laying around. I'll happen across another Sportster they'll fit one day & kick myself for letting them go.

I have exactly the same question as the OP. I have just bought an XL1200L for my wife and am tossing up between the V&H Shortshots and Big Radius - but the problem is that apart from the stock photo I can't find pictures of any Sportsters with Big Radius pipes.... On the big Twins they look fantastic (especially the Rocker) but I am not so sure on the Sportster... If anyone has some real-life pics that would be great!

dang, i didnt know they were makin big radius for sporties now....I friggin love those pipes, but like you said, im too poor for that extra coin

 

I heard the Big Rads on a sporty...... WOW! Deepest exhaust note ive heard on ANY Harley period! Im putting a set on in a week. My local shops got a Nightster outfitted with them......and since then.... they havent sold any short shots... (The pipes EVERYONE has ;-))


Ill keep everyone in the loop complete with video. Ive yet to see a Sporty vid with the V&H Big Rad's ANYWHERE! Im going to be the first by the looks of it!
