Default turn signals kit (old stock) question

I was in the Dealership and picked up old stock Turn Signal Module Kit part number 68286-04. I got it for half price but like the story goes......... I put it on, BUT instead of all 3 lights staying on, only the brake light stays on, and when u hit the brakes, a 3 come on. Is this correct ??? I thought all 3 were going to stay on low until I hit the brake than all 3 would be bright.

Be Safe JIM

Are your bulbs dual filament bulbs? I don't remember if they should all stay on all the time, but the factory rear signals were single filament, and dont have the wires to stay on. Check that first.

The older units worked that way. Middle light constant and turn signals as brake lights, too. I prefer it over the turns as running lights. As for the new module (turns as running lights), a second filament is not required. It has the running lights as dim then full on for brake and turn.

I am thinking about going with the newer style, why do you prefer the older way ??

I think a light going from off to on is more noticable than going from dim to on. I have no research to prove or disprove my position. Just my observations of people. People suck and the ones in cars are trying to kill me.

Maybe, but then having 3 tail lights at night is a whole lot better than one, IMO. Also, if you get the Run/Brake/Turn/Flash module, all 3 tail lights will flash 3 times before going solid ON when the brakes are applied.

I'm not real keen on the three flashes thing. People are lazy and stupid. I don't want them behind me being confused, too. It's an extremely rare occurrence that someone sneaks up on the rear of my bike at night. I don't like modulating headlights, either. A false sense of security and someone may mistake the flashed headlight as an "OK" to cut in front of you. I'm sure many here will disagree with me and think I'm oblivious to the obvious.
You pays your money and you's takes your chances.
