Default dumb question regarding rear lights

I have to ask because im a bunch of miles from home but on a heritage the rear turn signal lights are they supposed to stay on or come on during braking?

Turn signals do come on. Only reason i even thought of asking is some guy got out of his car in newark delaware to make sure i knew they werent engaging when braking. I never really paid attention. Thanks.

On a stock Heritage, the rear turn signals only function as turn signals. They do not stay on (running lights) or function with the brake unless you either:

1. Install the run/brake/turn signal module which allows the rear turn signals to stay on as running lights, function with the brake and function as turn signals.

OR

2. Install Harley Davidson LED rear turn signals. When the LED turn signals are wired as directed, they function as running lights and brake lights as well and, therefore, don't require the run/brake/turn module.

Ride safe.

And up here in Canada, if you had the run/brake/turn controller, you'd have to change the amber lenses with red lenses - brake lights must be red.

The kit comes with red lenses I believe. You don't want amber brake lights in PA. If you bought the bike used and it had red lenses, either the previous owner snatched the controller off or the module isn't working. If you have the ambers, get the kit. That is one of the first mods I did to my new FatBoy, extra safety.

Something every rider should do. Don't know why they don't come out of the factory that way. The object is to be seen.

I included the Module in my deal when I bought the bike. A Must have if you ask me.
