I installed smoke lenses for the turn signals a while ago and followed the directions but I'm noticing something odd. Most touring harleys I see have their rear turn signals on while running. So there's the rear brake light and both turn signals on while running. Mine stay off. Both FRONT turn signals are on while running. Are the rear supposed to be on or are people switching out the bulbs so they stay on?
A lot of them have added a conversion module to make the rear turn bulbs, running/turn/brake lights. Most just have the brake/tail light on the rear with separate turn signal only lights. The modules are available at the dealer for around $50. I have 2 on my 05 electra glide, one for the tour pack lights, and one for the lights on the fender. That gives me 6 running lights, 5 brake lights, and 4 turn signal lights on the rear.
Ah ok. I was just wondering if I had done something wrong. And yes both my front turn signals stay on unless I use the turn signals or hazards. Then they blink. I know the front bulbs have a dual filament that came with the smoke lens kit
But you say both your front turn signal bulbs are constantly on?
they're supposed to. in stock configuration, you have front running lights, and not rear (thats what the taillight is for) unless, you have a street glide or road glide custom that does not have the larger taillight, in that case you will have running lights in your signals.
