Default Chopped Tour Pack vs Regular Tour Pack

Why? Honest question. What is the draw of the chopped tour pack instead of a regular sized tour pack?

Because I ride solo, exclusively, and I don’t need or want a big back rest on the back of my bike.

If my wife ever rode with me I’d be all for it.

My last three.

Police trunk on a new police bike.

They’ve been serving BBQ 103 years.

I liked this one too.

I tried not to out a trunk on my 2019 FLHTP. But I find my King Tour Pak useful.

Chopped Tour paks will not hold my helmets.

Razor packs are there to look good while being mostly useless.

I do not understand why people would pay $$$$ for less. Not like it is going to be sporty. Denial

Harleys are about more the better

How much weight are you saving when they are empty?

I do remember the GoldWings having smaller trunks for their European bikes to resolve a cross wind/high speed wobble issue. That was back in the 1990s.

I ride mostly solo so I don't carry much that warrants bigger. When I ride with a FF helmet I just lock it to the bike, but I use the chopped TP for my half helmet. When the wife rides with me on the long weekend getaways, the chopped TP prevents her from taking extra crap.

I doubt you'll save much when empty, but I read somewhere that a King Tour pack can weigh 20-30lbs more than a chopped tour pack with both fully loaded.

And that's weight high on the bike.... Makes a difference....

Self discipline aside, and human nature being what it is, if you are going on a trip it's real easy to fill a tour pack..... whatever the size...
