I have an 07 FLHR with Kuraykan bullet style turn signals, I bought the Harley conversion kit to make my turn signals act as running and brake lights as well as turn signals. I plugged the module into the wiring harness and now my turn signals still function, they also come on with the running lights but do not work as brake lights, any ideas? it is suposed to be a plug and play module, thanks in advance for your input.
Are you sure they will function as brake lights? Maybe the control module is for running lights only. The Kury Panacea module combined with their lights lets them function as brake lights but I'm not sure about the HD kit.
Edit: Auxiliary Running Light / Brake Light / Turn Signal Conversion Kit Turn signal module adds an auxiliary brake light and running light function to your existing turn signals for auxiliary rear lighting. Easy-to-install, the kit simply plugs into your existing wiring harness. Red turn signal lenses are included. Meets DOT requirements.
It should work according to the HD info. Not sure why it doesn't.
The unit is plug and play. I'd remove the module to be sure that everything works like it's supposed to without it, then take it back and get another one.
Used the plug and play turn signal kit from HD about a month ago. The first one I got, only 1 side worked. Took it in and they changed it out. the second one works fine. Could be a faulty module you got. Bring it back!
My .02 - I put a module on mine and the wifey's bikes and they operate as brake and turn signal
only. I have 05 RK and wife has 05 Deluxe. I wanted what you got but now I like these. Also
changed the rear bulbs to red LED with smoked lense. The red LED (Autozone) are clear while no
power is on and red when powered.
The rear bulb is single filament...how can it be on for bothe run and brake?
Two different modules?
Ron
Edit: The module part # I used is 91700-99. Hope this helps...
With the new harley module, the turn signal/running light bulb is the same one the harley module uses as brake light. I dont know how they do it but, I think if you look real close you will notice the brake light is actually working, however it is hard to distinguish from the runing light especially in the sunlight. This is the module with the smaller, flatter black plastic box, as compared with the older bigger black plastic box.

RE: Turn signal/brake light conversion question
It dropes the voltage for tail lighting and is normal for brake and turn
With led's they may not work properly not enough load may have to use a resistor
It is possible that you got the wrong module. A while ago HD sold 2 different units, one was running lights and turn signals only. The other (newer) one has the runing lights, break lights and turn signals all together. It is possible that you mistakenly bought the wrong one.

I was going to buy the conversion kit but decided against it. I followed a guy on the highway one night and he had the kit on his bike. I didn't think the turn signals were bright enough when he signaled lane changes. I decided to stay with the amber lights so when I indicate a lane change it's obvious.
