I just took my second module back in the last 5 weeks - this time for good. Anyone else have problems with the module shorting out?? Any other alternatives?? I like the idea of having all the lights on in the rear, but not if the HD part sucks!
Wow I`ve had 2 of them and never had any problems...do you have the one that makes them tail lights too or only brake and turn ? The earlier one I had on my 03 RKC wouldnt work on my 08. so I got the newer one .........
Had mine for about 6 months now with no problems at all. On an 04 WG. Can't think of any reason yours keep shorting out. Loose ground somewhere is all I can come up with.
I bought the same module from the local dealer and it lasted 2 days. I went to exchange it and they kind of gave me a hard time, but took it back after a manager was involved. There is a "no return" policy on electrical parts, but they went ahead and exchanged it. So far, the new one is working fine.
Make your own.
Buy some used front turn signals to replace the rear ones. Front ones have the 2 element bulbs.
Then run a extra wire from the brake light to the "new" rear turn signals.
Do a search on here I think there is a diagram for this.
We just installed a kuryakyn 4859 controller on my buddy's fat boy. Standard brake light with red led turn signal inserts,it has the 3 flash pulse, works grEat,cages stay BACK!
Mine ate chit after about a year. took it off and never looked back. As far as I am concerned, another thing that can and will go wrong in my personal experience.
