10" mini ape cable lengths???
Looking to go with some braided brake, clutch, throttle cables ....wondering if anyone knows the lengths I need....bike is an 05 883L and i'm 5000 kms away from it at the moment so i can't just go out and measure whats on there now....thanks
I just removed my 10" apes and the old stuff measures 48" on the brake line 34" on the throttle cables and 64" on the clutch.
These where all plenty long so anything up to 3-4" shorter would work also.

i keep thinking about buying mini apes, love the look and the way they feel i just dont wanna spend the 500 or so dollars for them, but seeing all of you guys putting them on is pushin me towards it
Thanks guys...i'm stuck in a work camp and looking for stuff to order to keep my mind occupied till i get home....so you figure +4 over stock should work ....slopoke---mini apes look and feel great bro...just go for it....i have mini apes and a dyna tank on my bike....she looks like a mini street bob lol
I paid like 340.00 for my mini apes and cables from chicagoharley.com I think the bars where only 50.00. you can get burley brand cable kit from j&p cycles for 175.00 and will work on bars up to 12". so you could put some mini apes on for less than 300.00 if you install yourself .

I just ordered mine in the diamondback finish this afternoon from J&P. Came to roughly $185 plus shipping.
I put on a set of 12" apes off a Dyna on my 1200C. 33" housing length on the throttle / idle and 60" on the clutch. I found out today that is how they are measured. They do not take the open section of cable into account. You want 130 degree on the throttle and idle for the wrap inside the throttle housing. The Dyna bars are 7.5" wider than factory in addition to the 6.5" in additional height from stock bars. Depending on your width, these measurements should work just dandy for you...
If you go to my garage on the forums here, you can see precisely how the Dyna bars look on the Sportster and they don't look bad at all!!! If you do it right, you don't even have to change out the bushings as the Dyna bars are 1" diametre as well.
