Default Black out

I just bought a new 07 Nightster and want to paint the grey primary/cam covers with the black krinkle paint. I know there have been some folks on here that have done it. I was just wondering if I can get any advise prior to doing it. I'm actually having a pro do it but just wanted to see if anyone had any advise.

If your having a pro do it anyway my advice would be to have the covers and anything else you can pull off powder coated rather than painted. Powder Coat holds up much better than paint. My covers were pulled and powder coated. What was left (Jugs etc.) was taped off and painted.

+1 on the powder coating. Too bad you're not in WA state. My son just got a job at a powdercoater's. He can do outside, small, jobs for donations ($25) to the employee picnic fund. I'm planning of having him do all my tins in satin black this winter when I don't mind the bike down for a while.
