Default Anyone use a different tank

So after looking at a lot of bikes today I can see where the sportsters tank is really small compared to some of the other lines. I have heard of people putting on larger tanks like off of dynas. Have any of you guys done this and have any pictures of the bike with the different tank on it and how do you like it

Yes, some have switched tanks. Don't know any dyna tank that will bolt up to a sportster but there are some who have switched for example from a 2.1 gallon on a 48 to a Nightster tank or other sportster tank. There are some aftermarket tanks out there as well that give more capacity. There has been some discussion on this forum. Try doing a search and you should be able to find some info. I was thinking of a tank from here: http://vision-design-studios.com/ for my 48.

I have seen fatbob tanks on sportsters before but I'm not sure how much work it would take.

fatbobs are aftermarket made for the sportster. i have switched from the peanut tank to a custom and on another bike peanut to a streched tank. depending on your gauge mount you might have to get a new one and same thing with the seat.

Here's my 05 with a dyna tank. Tank uses stock sportster rear tank bolt and needs a small tube welded to the top of the frame to mount the front of the tank. Very easy mod. Most assume the bike is a dyna.
