just received my 12" progressives for my iron 883...I bought lowering blocks but just wanted people's advice on whether I should use them or not and if the longer shocks will be easy to put on without a lift of any kind (such as one side as a time perhaps?).

Sorry, didn't wanna make a new thread about shocks! just looking for a quick answer, not to derail the thread!

WildThang, did you do anything to your front end? How is the ride?
How much lean angle did you gain?
If you would do it again, will you want to do it any higher?
Thanks

Added 11.5" Progressive 412's. Handles the bumps in the road much better.

Those 12" shocks changed the look of your 48, but I think if still looks good.
Do you feel that they changed the handling characteristics of the bike at all? Good or bad?

Changed the look? you bet...makes it look meaner....

No noticable change in handling...but the ride is expnetionally better...

Nothing to the front end springs...yet...probably in the near future (still recovering from the cost of the exhaust and tuner)

With the shocks/exhaust and the new pegs (manufactured by 4t8 here on the forum)...gained about another 5-10 degrees of lean angle...

Doubt if I would go any higher....everyone that has rode this bike says its a huge improvement over stock configuration
