I goofed I have a 87 sportster and my tach is bad, I bought one off e-bay but did not notice that it said it was for 95 and newer. Does anyone know if it will still work on my 87?

 

Whatever is the year of the tachometer, it will fit ....
The only problem will the bracket which is different from 95 to 2003 (electronic speedo)....
You better try to find a 89 to 94 models.
