Default Fuelpak installation. :(

Just installed a V&H fuelpak on my 2011 sportster. The programming was easy, but fitting the pack near the battery was a bee-otch. I would say it's damn near impossible. Who was the genius engineer who put the negative terminal where it is? I moved mine to where the trickle charge screws on to.

My new small battery will be here Monday. I can't fit all the wires in now, so I can't ride until I get my new battery.

I hear ya installed one on my 2008 and it was a tight fit under there. I just love how the youtube video makes it look so easy.

Seen a guy mount a Fuel pac,,was simple,,
Moved the Master fuse holder and the smaller connector under It, they
moved, little one round the corner, big one down.
Fuel pack slapped right on the battery holder,,,Velcro,,the strong one.
Simple,,,five minutes and he kept the much needed cold cranking amps
of the regular battery,,,

I think he paid $3.99 for the super strong velcro,,

Oh yeah he padded the cover round the fuel pac,,just In case,,,cost,,,zero

How do your bikes run with the fuel pak? I do not wan to pay the high price at my dealer to get my bike Dyno Tuned once I get the V&H Big Radius on my bike. I've heard the Fuel pak is something that will work for you temporarily (year or two).....does that sound right? I just want to get the pipes and new air cleaner on my bike and ride. I don't need any performance changes but then again I don't want to spend $200 on the fuel pak and have to get another one a couple years later. Can you guys tell me how it is working out for you? Thanks!

I agree the negative terminal grounded to the trans case is stupid and a pain in the *** to get at, but Mine went in without a hitch and works great !!
Why would it only last for a year or two?? That doesnt make any sense.

I shoved mine into teh rear wheelwell.

The FP itself should last for years, whether or not you choose ot use it as your tuner for that long may differ.

ETA: If all you're doing is air cleaner and pipes that V&H has a map for, you'll be fine. GO beyond that, adn you'll be dumping the FP.

I wouldn't worry about it. My "Stealer" told me they eventually go bad. He was most likely telling me that so I get my bike tuned through them! I just threw it out there to see if anybody could confirm it.

I've seen a lot of grumbling about the FP, but never because it just went bad.
