Default Newbie Sparkplug Question

I bought a 883 that I am replacing the spark plugs on. It is a 2005 and has a Stage 1 Screaming Eagle kit with air cleaner and pipes. Can I replace the Screaming Eagle plugs with stock HD plugs? Thanks!

You can use whatever plug brand or type you want. As long as it crosses to the stock plug. The $1.99 plug works just as well as the $30 plug

How many miles on bike...?? If current plugs look good - no need to change them...they last forever nowadays.

Stock is perfectly fine! And since they're only about $10 a pair, I change them at the beginning of every season after I run the winter tank of gas that had Seafoam in it. Do they really need to be changed? Probably not, but for $10 why the hell not start the season fresh?

Every 10,000 miles you should change your plugs. 0.038 in to .042 in is the specification for gap length. Re-gap them at around 5000 miles. After that they wear out and aren't running optimally.

My choice is the Champion RA8HC plug, it's the stock replacement (Champion makes the HD plugs) and works great. Oh, and it's only $2 tops. Sure beats $5/ea for the base HD ones.

+1 - Champion RA8HC plugs, <$2.00 from your local auto parts store.
