Default 95 XLH Oil Pressure Switch

I recently bought a 95 XLH and I am going to install the Oil Pressure Switch (Switch on order). The bike came with a plug in the hole. In the Sevice manual there is a 45 degree elbow that I don't have. The Harley Dealer says the part is obsolete (P/N 60618-91). I googled it with no luck. Will the switch thread right in to the crank case without hitting the engine case without the elbow? Or is there a simple way to get an alternate piece of hardware to install it?

Can you post a pic of the plug location? All of mine are threaded straight in without any other fittings.

Mreed. Hope this helps. I am hoping the threads and clearance is good without the elbow.

Yeah, that's where mine are. You should be able to thread it right in there...but if not, it looks to be simple NPT threads. If you need an adapter or angled fittings they'll be at Lowe's in the plumbing section.

Sounds good to me. Just have to wait for the switch to come in. Thanks for the help.

You can also hook a line right there and run a liquid filled gauge for oil pressure.

That is a very good option. I could run a "T" and have the light and the gauge.
