Default Exhaust Help

So I have a 2011 48 (see photo below), and while I adore the bike in every way, I noticed that I don't sound as ... well .. as Harley-like as other bikes. Not as deep and throaty.

I don't want a loud bike. I live in a city and I don't want to be a d-bag to my neighbors, but it would be nice if it had that same/similar look to how it is now, but with better sounding exhaust.

Any suggestions? I'm totally new to the Harley world, this is my first bike.

Note that I plan on getting the tank repainted next year. Same silver color, just getting it debadged and some old-school black curly flames on it ... I want to expand that 1960s/1970s cafe' racer look.

Nice bike. I think the Screamin Eagle slipons are pretty mellow

welcome to the club...NONE of the newer EFI bikes sound like "Harley" until you pop open that exhaust. However, I think you're extremely limited if you don't want the "crackle" and stuff that really brings out the bike. Like GreatScott said above, i think you're only option is SE slipons, since they are a very very mild improvement for a hella lotta dough. Even the cheaper drag specialties, cycle shack, etc slip-ons with their baffles in are quite loud. I'd rather be a douchebag, I think. It's not like you HAVE to get on it in the neighborhood, low throttle it till you get out onto a main road. I'm lucky, I live in a neighborhood of bikers, so it's like a morning ritual to all fire up!!

Great slipons

But I just drilled out my baffles. Love it. Cost was $25 for the drill extension and 1in hole bit.

My assumption was just to drill out the baffles, if I didn't like, I'd order those slipons from amazon.
I'm good and don't need to spend the money for sure.

+1 Cycle Shacks are virtually the same and a little cheaper. Stock exhausts are poop. Maybe modify your current exhaust, cheapest route to go. Keep your warranty in mind though.

Good points, Kont. Yeah, I mean I live in a city, I hear motorcycles ALL the time and a neighbor has a Harley and comes in every night at midnight. I am just jealous of that sound!

I am ok if it is loud, cracked open and all that. I want it to look good, not just sound good. Assuming I am ok with the "crackle" what would you guys recommend?

As I said, I'm totally new to the 'club' Not just harleys but Motorcycles in general. Only got my license in April! (Already put hundreds of miles on the bike in the last 2.5 months!)

I like the chromed look of the exhaust. I like them slung low like the bike is now. So I don't want to change the look TOO much (minor styling or angling diffrences are fine, of course).

And thanks for the compliment on the bike. I love it. I get looks all the time and even seasoned Harley riders comment on the whitewalls

Since you also have a 48, got any pics? I'd love to see what it looks like and what you did!
