Im getting the same with my 2012 Iron, i also use the trip A for a gas reading, and trip B for oil change intervals, oh and the clock for when its time to grab a beer, though that seems to be a constant!

My fuel light came on yesterday right after taking off from a stoplight and then went out. Same thing at the next stoplight. I stopped at the next filling station and it took 3.6 gallons. My tank holds 4.5 gallons.

I just got this bike less than two weeks ago. I filled it up before the light the last time but I thought I'd wait longer this time to see if the light worked.

About the same here with my 4.5 gal tank. I fill up around 130-140. However, based on the mileage I get and the size of the tank, it would take around 200 miles to run it bone dry, but due to fuel sloshing around in corners and such, probably more like 170-180 would be puching it.

I wondered what everyone was getting for mileage...I get around 48 average with mixed town & highway riding. 1200C stock motor except SE pipes.

Same ride here... 48-50 mpg commuting city/highway, and about 54 on longer road trips.

if u estimate a very conservative 20 miles and get to a gas station within that, you'll be fine, no worries!

My light comes on right around 100 miles, have gone 130 miles ona full tank but was def running low because i went hard on the throttle and the little fuel remaining shifted back and I lost all power at the throttle lol so I would just say to use your odometer and learn your bike ! odometer is the best fuel gauge available imo lol ... also I always fill up at shell cuz their pumps are the best and always get V-power ( highest octane ) I can get

The Night Rod jumps to mile until empty automatically. The other HD's must scroll until it comes up.
My '07 Sporty with EFI most definitely does not have this countdown miles-to-empty function. Maybe the big twins have it, or maybe later sporties have it, but mine sure doesn't.

Yeah I think none of the XL models have it, I could be wrong.

My 2012 XL883N does not have it.
