I get a partly misted up speedo when it's sunny and warm (at the bottom of the dial). Anyone else get this? Is there moisture inside causing this or do they all do it?
Yes !!! Very annoying. I thought about drilling a tiny hole in the plastic cover to let the moisture out.

Seems like the newer bikes do it as well. Either Harley don't think it does any harm or they don't know it's happening. I wonder if anyone from HD reads these posts?

Mine is 2007 and has it too. Don't like moisture where there are electronics.
Thought about opening it up and trying to seal it a bit better after letting it dry out.

Default similiar post

there is another similiar post on here of recent times in which i replied with this....just an idea

i have had this problem a couple time and have heard about it several times. I often wonder if its not necessarily that the housing isn't holding a seal, but that the speedo wasn't vacuum sealed from the factory. If the gauge is put together in a high humidity environment and not vacuum sealed, then obviuosly when the lens of the gauge quickly meets an atmosphere of significant differential temperature from the air inside the gauge, any humidity trapped in the gauge will immediately condensate onto the lense. This will happen repeatedly if the seal is actually good because the trapped moisture can never escape. Just a scientific approach........ also, if you can't replicate the problem at the shop, they will often turn you away for "warranty" work.
