Front Brakes too sensitive?

Checking the relief port is easy, from the H-D master cylinder rebuild kit instructions:
"Verify proper operation of master cylinder relief port. Actuate brake lever with reservoir cover removed. A slight spurt of fluid will break fluid surface in reservoir compartment if all internal components are working properly."
Your fluid level should be about 1/4 inch below the top edge of the reservoir, there is a ridge there at the proper height.
I agree, it sounds like you are okay. If you are worried, then take it easy for several miles with frequent stops to check your brakes. If they are not smoking hot after mild use you are good to go.
