Default Wife wants a saddle seat

Somewhat new to the forum, so forgive me if I'm reposting an old thread...

Question: The wife has an '07 883L and she LOVES the look of the old school looking saddle seats...

?: Has anyone done one yet, or does anyone know where they may make saddles that proportionately look nice on a sporty? Keep in mind that I'm talking about the old police style solo saddle.

I'm a tool maker by trade so the fab part of making one fit doesn't rattle me in the least. Just looking for a direction to point myself in.
Thanks Gang!

Take a look into "Springer seat", very popular upgrade! Not cheap, but a nice ride and looks awesome! Welcome to the forums!

Just really quick...is that an HD seat, or is that a "Brand" name or manufacturer?

Nope, springer seats are the style, not the brand. They are called springers because of the springs that are attached to the back of the seat, which give a little more cushion. There are several manufacturers out there that make them. Unfortunately you will need to get an installation kit with it, that includes a bracket (I think they should all come with the kit). They are not cheap, but are nice. I am considering making these brackets for a fraction of the price, it is insane what they are asking for them.

I haven't actually seen what I think you are describing made for a sportster.

Mustang has some that are similar in features to the old saddle style seats, but not exactly the same.

Not my thing but this may be close?:

However if you are in fact looking for a solo spring mounted seat there are dozens of brands and setups to choose from that range from cheap and sloppy to insanely detailed, lush, and expensive.

I think he's looking for one of these, only scaled down for the Sportster.
Harley part # 52004-25 (first offered in 1925).

Yeah, I was picturing the old knuckle head sadles, or the flat head police bike with the saddle style leather lacing at the seam.

Scuba, that's exactly what the wife is DYING to have on her sporty. Don't get me wrong, if worst comes to worst, I'll fab a pan as well, and just send it out to a local leather shop...buuuuut if I could simply FIND one that looks nice and the wife digs as well, it'd be money well spent and time saved for MY bike. lol
