Question Headlamp Visor Kit Item #68129-98DH or 68129-97 Can it fit on 48?

Has anyone attempted or successfully installed this kit on a forty eight? If so, can you please let me know? I know HD says it will not fit XL1200 customs due to some sort of stock headlight mount problem, but also I have read some threads on people installing them on nightsters and irons by using the dyna spacers....wondering if using the dyna spacers would work for the 48? I have yet to hear about anyone trying this on the forty eight. Before I drop the cash and order one, Id like to know if it will fit flush or if there is a work around to make it fit on my 2010 48.

Headlamp Visor Kit Item #68129-98DH or 68129-97

Thanks,

Ash

Did anyone ever try and do this. I like the look of the kit and want to see if it would work.

I believe you will find that the 2 mounting holes in the top triple clamp are spaced differently than mount. The holes may possibly be filed to fit but I do not know if the bottom mount headlight is in the same location as the top mount light. Check out the instuctions for a 68129-97 on the HD parts website to see why there are different spacers for the Sportster and Dyna.

I hear people are using the Dyna spacers on their Irons and Nightsters because the headlight is centered in the visor better. It's been in a few threads.
That visor will fit on your 48 if you make it fit. Maybe a couple aluminum brackets made from flat stock with a saw and a file (or belt sander). Might require a speedometer relocation. I'd be interesting to see.
