Default Speedo location help

Alright heres the problem my sister just got an 08 XL883, but the bars werent quite where she needed them. So we've I've installed sone new Harley risers 4" up 1" back (they're the stock risers for the XLC's) and now the bars are in the right spot only had to swap out for a new brake line since all other cables have enough length.

The problem is the speedo/indicator cables done have enough slack to go back ontop of the handlebar clamp like they should, so my question is would the speedo mount from the 48 just bolt right onto the risers, or what other suggestions yall might have.

The 48 doesn't have risers and its speedo mounts to the upper triple. If you want to use the speedo mount from a 48 on risers you will probably have some machining to do to get them to fit nicely. I know that's at least how it works for Irons and Nightsters.

my buddies nightster has a 48 speedo mount on his bike... it was a direct bolt on

is her speedo bracket the one on the underside of the clamp?

Not possible unless he has 3.5"+ risers or has relocated the headlight to the lower triple as the 48 speedo bucket interferes with the headlight eyebrow.

Irish, you can read about how to make the 48 speedo mount fit here. If you have questions, ask the guys that posted in that thread.

The temporary fix at the moment is I got some longer bolts and and have the speedo bolted to the backside of the riser with some cap nuts its on good for now but in a funky position to look at.

Well here are some pics for reference

Her stock clamp which in normal position the Speedo would bolt on top of the clamp with the upper bolts

These are the risers we just installed

And of course the 48 speedo housing
