I have an '06 superglide and have been wondering for a while what could be done on the cheap to help the look of the speedo. I've thought about taking the riser clamp/speedo unit off the risers and removing the risers and turning them 180 degrees and putting it all back together with the speedo facing downward (or course i'd have to flip the speedo and the indicator lights internally but i'm pretty sure this is possible.) I'm wondering if anyone has tried this. It appears as if there will be some clearance issues with the downward facing speedo and the tank however i can't be completely sure without actually going through with it. If that is an issue what about putting spacers under the risers (are the bolts entering the risers from the bottom long enough to put some spacers) to lengthen the risers and move the speedo up some. If anyone has tried this please respond and anyone that has any kind of opinion on this feel free also. Any responses will be helpful.
The biggest problem would be the angle of the speedo case. There are some guys that have switched to custom sporty risers and that works and looks good. Check out e-bay and if your not in a hurry you can pick up parts cheaper than new. If the search is working try it for more ideals.

I'm interested in this too. I just don't like the look of the speedo. I would at least like to be able to install one of the chrome clamp covers on top of it but can't do that either. There aren't many options for making that setup look any better. Keep us posted if you try it.
i searched for months for a way to do that cheaply and keep it looking good. there are very very few options, and the options there are i thought looked like crap so i went ahead and did it the expensive way and this is what i came up with.
You won't be able to just flip it over, there are fitment issues etc. go ahead and try tho.. [8D]
I did some grinding on my speedo case so as to fit with my risers and the internal components fits such that they cannot be simply turned over.
No simple or cheap way, otherwise I think we would have all (most) changed by now.
I thought the same thing too till I flipped it and the angle was all wrong. So I took it off and left it off, no speedo,no idiot lights just a bare clamp. Lost 5#'s by leaveing it off, besides I know how fast I'm going don't you? Dave...

What about the mileage? Or maybe you don't think thats nessacary?
