Default Cables long enough??

I'm looking at getting a new set of bars for my 87 883. But was wondering what the max hight I can go with out having to buy cables. The ones I am looking at have a 4in rise. Thanks

I don't have an answer for your '87, but make sure you also look at width and pullback. I changed bars on mine with bars that were only 1" higher but didn't account for the extra 3" in width and extra pullback, I had to reroute cables and should have got a new brake line (I didn't keep the bars). When looking before I ordered the bars, I was only measuring for the extra 1".

Of all the cables and wiring, on mine anyway, that brakeline seemed to have the least amount of any "extra".

The bares are stock and came off a 98 1200 95 anniversary edition I have drag bars now with the factory cables so I have a lot extra.

You should have no problems goin with 4" rise. Pull all your cables/wires and see how much slack you have.

Did yours come off a 98 or 95?

Bars are off a 1998 95th anniversary. What about with bars at full turn does it pull the tight at all?
