I have a friend that just bought a 1993 Sportster with the 1200 engine. It had sat for 2 years andstarted to leak oil through the head gasket. When the previous owner brought it in to have the gasket replaced, they looked up the VIN# and said it was a special engine, that was only used in 1993 -1994 and the bike was worth more because of this engine. My friend thinks he was told, the engine was made by BMW. I told him he was nuts.
Does anyone know of a differenceof some kind that pertains to the 1200 engine in 1993?
I thought it best that I check on this forum before having him committed.
