Can anyone help me?I want to fit either a Fat BoB or a a Dyna tank as pictured to my 2010 Sportster, I don't know if there is anyone who makes a after market bolt on tank available or Is it very hard to make a genuine Tank fit?????,
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

 

Alot of parts dealers should have a tank as a bolt on in stock. J&P a site sponser lists one 4.5 gal although it is on back order. As for the Fat Bobs if it is a FI tank you should be able to rig up some conversion mounts for it. I am currently going to do this for my sons 04 883 once the tank comes back from the painter. Also did you try HD?

 

imho, they look terrible on Sporties... The Sporty is designed to be a very thin bike, and when you toss the big fat wide tank on it, it just throws the whole look off... I saw something like this at the Hog shop when I was buying my bike, and was almost offended! D:

Still, to each their own. A body shop could quickly and easily mount the tank for you... They should have the metalworking experience to be able to build and install a few conversion brackets, and even paint the tank/brackets to match...

You still working on this project by chance? I'm right in the middle of a complete rubuild on my 08 1200 and I'm also putting a dyna tank on my bike. I've seen some pictures of of two other bikes that have this mod and i think it looks great..
