Default Transmission question (metal on metal sound)

I have a 05 Sportster 1200 C and just recently it started making a metal hitting metal high pitched sound whenever I shift into first gear. It only happens when I shift into first and it kind of sounds like two steel rods hitting eachother. I was wondering if anyone has an Idea as to what is making that sound and if it is an easy fix or something I am going to have to take it into the shop for.

+1 - I'd check both the clutch and primary chain adjustments.
