I think that satin black/blacked out bikes are a practical, utilitarian option for individuals that want to spend less time cleaning and polishing and more time in the saddle. When I see a bike that is mainly satin finish I instantly think of military aircraft (stealth fighter- S-R71 ect.) which I feel is a cool image to portray. Although I can appreciate both motif's, I would have to say the simple clean lines of a "blacked out bike" appeals to me more than the super-chrome version. just my

I remember spending hours helping my dad polish his bikes. It looked amazing after it was done but he did spend more time polishing than he ever did riding. That kinda affected me in how I wanted my bike. I want a good looking bike without the hours of tennis elbow and polishing.... I am 29 years old, maybe that will change, but I don't think so, lazy now means lazy later

I like both but the comments about having all black because you dont want to polish chrome crack me up. I wax my chrome sometimes but usually just wipe the dust off. Black attracts ad shows more dirt and dust than anything.

But if you didnt get absolutely every part on a chrome piece it shows big time. On black its not very noticeable.

I went to a bike show yesterday and most everyone was a chrome *****. I'd rather ride than polish. Black fits the bill.

I am more for the black engine and a nice paint job. Easier to keep clean and won't blind anyone in the sun as I pass them like they are standing still.

Trends definitely come and go. All I know is if I grab an American Iron or Street Chopper or Hot Bikes I don't like the over the top choppers and other bikes.

I'm not a fan of big chrome, never have been.
If it wasn't for the latest Harley's without all the chrome, I would'nt own one. I like the more subdued look of black and grey.

Add a nice paintjob to that and you have a thing a beauty. My bike is 2 tone crimson red/black and I always get great compliments on my bike, more so that the people I ride with and it actually gets embarrassing
