I think that satin black/blacked out bikes are a practical, utilitarian option for individuals that want to spend less time cleaning and polishing and more time in the saddle. When I see a bike that is mainly satin finish I instantly think of military aircraft (stealth fighter- S-R71 ect.) which I feel is a cool image to portray. Although I can appreciate both motif's, I would have to say the simple clean lines of a "blacked out bike" appeals to me more than the super-chrome version. just my

I remember spending hours helping my dad polish his bikes. It looked amazing after it was done but he did spend more time polishing than he ever did riding. That kinda affected me in how I wanted my bike. I want a good looking bike without the hours of tennis elbow and polishing.... I am 29 years old, maybe that will change, but I don't think so, lazy now means lazy later

I'm not a fan of big chrome, never have been.
If it wasn't for the latest Harley's without all the chrome, I would'nt own one. I like the more subdued look of black and grey.
Add a nice paintjob to that and you have a thing a beauty. My bike is 2 tone crimson red/black and I always get great compliments on my bike, more so that the people I ride with and it actually gets embarrassing
