Default Throttle cables?

i have an 09 custom, i bought some braided cables that came off an 07 nightster, they should be the same, correct?...the braided ones that came off the nightster have small ***** on the end of the cables (grip side) and the ones that are on my 09 have tiny barrel shaped ones...will these not work?

Hmm...if I understand correctly, then your "barrel shaped ones" are just the brass ferrules that the cables slide into.

Look like these?

Yep, the ball should be fixed to the cable, and fits into the barrel. So it sounds like you're just missing those two little pieces.

Alright, well, be careful with these they're easy to lose. Open the throttle housing and pull the cables + ferrules out of the grip. Don't drop 'em. They'll slip right off the cables, then just put them on your new cables. They're a pain in the *** to put back in so loosen off the slack adjuster on your throttle cable to make it easier.

And if you don't own picks, they will make things much easier.

huh, the "ball" ends on the braided cables "look" bigger, almost like they should be used without them small brass ends?

I assure you that's not the case. However, can you get a side-by-side picture of the cables?
