Default oil leak somewhere

I posted not too long ago cause there was a small oil leak mostly evident on the primary oil drain plug. I drained and refilled the oil with the correct amount to try to fix it. Still a leak somewhere...

I don't ride to work (taking the cage for now) and since I noticed the problem have checked every night when I get home. There's nothing on the pavement but about a drop that I can wipe off right next to the drain plug every time. I've also noticed it along the seal for the primary cover towards the back. There's also some grimey oil (on an otherwise very clean bike) on top of the crankcase and running down the back.

My intuition tells me its either the primary seal or an oil tank hose, but I'm not sure. I want to think that since it is a dry sump engine, that it must be from these two sources and not from the crankcase. (Is that a bad assumption?) I've also heard of a starter seal leak, too. Lastly, I'm nervous about a seam that I see on the crankcase that looks like it is sealed up with some rubbery sealant, but I don't know what it is.

PS - I did drop it at a low speed (stopping and turning on gravel), but it was enough to scratch the primary inspection cover.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Default RE: oil leak somewhere

I had this same type of oil leak on my 05 883. It went to the dealer four toimes. They changed the primary gasket twice and the oil plug seal with out stopping the leak. The final fix is the starter has a seal to the primary.. This seal was bad allowing oil to leak int the started then drippoing out on top of the primary case and runnig down the back.
