+1 to the parachord.
if you wrap it properly it shouldn't budge. a lot of guys use parachord for knife grips.

bonus: if you wreck in the middle of nowhere you've got a major survival tool!

plunderdogs on ebay sells leather ones. I have them on my 48.

only shelving vinyl i could find for now.. its a faux leather.. but good enough for now till i find better stuff.. i cut it a lil short but i think when i get my fairing it wont be so bad.

Looks like they aren't selling them at this time on ebay but here is there website. Give them an email and ask them if they can make you a set. They usually make them for the iron and nightsters but they made a set for my 48 and cut them to fit. quality leather. Been on my bike for a year and still look great.
