Temp Sensor Brands???
Called my local HD parts department to ask what brand their "OEM" Temp sensors were manufactured by, and they couldn't tell me. I am trying to discover this to see if they are made by Felpro. Just found out the Advanced auto Parts store near me sells the Temp Sensor for my bike, but made by Felpro, and for around 20 bucks cheaper then buying it through HD directly.
I am curious to discover if something like a temp sensor is a part that i need to be particularly worried about the manufacturer or not, and try to save 20 bucks for the gas tank, or if i should just spend it and get whatever HD's "OEM" part is manufactured by?
Any knowledge or advice on this? My bike is 2007 Sportster 1200C. Thanx!

I bet they make them for HD and it's most likley the same just doesn't have the HD logo on it.
Just curious why you have to change yours, I havn't heard of them being a problem.
I think you need a special socket with a notch in the side for the wires don't you?

When the bike is just started up for about 3 minutes while i let it warm up it tends to spit and cough, but once it warms up it stops doing it. I was suggested it to be the Temp Sensor. I originally had a Power commander 3 USB on it, then we took it off, then it stopped the cough and spit crap. Realising now it was a matter of the bike simply needing to warm up.
As of current moment the bike just had HG's (Both cylinders replaced) and all new top end gaskets as well. The bike currently has Samson powerflow 3 2-into-1 pipes (baffles still in for the moment), and the rest of the bike is currently stock. have yet to put the power commander back in. The mechanic is a great mechanic but he is only one man with about 20 bikes in his shop, and everything he has done was great work. He suggested temp sensor first, but then if that doesn't fix it, that we will have to check the fuel injectors. But he was heavily leaning towars the TS as once the bike warmed up it was no longer a problem. He explained it as the TS tell the computer to allow a tad more fuel into the bike when colder, and then once bike is warmed up to allow normal flow, and feels the bike may not be getting it's precise amount of fuel when cold. and this is my current situation. Perhaps this info helps?

I think the problem is that a temp sensor issue does not come up on here very often so nobody has much first hand experience with the symptoms/parts.
Is your mechanic experienced with EFI systems?, the reason I ask is he seems to be guessing what it might be and has guessed two items that almost never come up on the forum here as a problem, I can't remember that last time anyone on here said they had to check/change their fuel injectors or temp sensor. Not knocking your mechanic, just saying.

Well we are not getting an engine code. And his thoughts are based on that it sounds like its not getting enough fuel when cold start, so he said to start with a temp sensor, and if that doesn't fix it then next step is to try fuel injectors. he also mentioned it could have been a pinched wire or something but didn't see anything like that when he did the HG's.
