Default Rear Fender Chop Step by Step

I have been researching rear fender chops and strut mounting for a few weeks before I finally decided to pull the trigger on this project, and after searching, I have yet to come across a detailed step by step process with pictures. So, with that said, I am going to be posting a detailed step by step tutorial as I go for any beginners wanting to mod their bike but just aren't sure of the process (no matter how simple it may be). I am currently waiting on a set of biltwell struts to arrive in the mail and then I will kick off the whole process. For now, while I wait for the struts, here is a picture of my bike before any rear fender mods have been done to it.

This project will include replacing the rear shocks with struts in order to lower the rear of the bike, chopping the rear fender, remounting the tail lights as well as the plate holder mod using the upper belt cover. Tomorrow evening I plan on removing the rear fender and getting the process rolling.

It's an incredibly simple process, especially with a fender like that (no holes). Just cut straight across at the flat line on the ECM/ECU hole, rotate forward, and re-mount.

Yea I know, but it may not be so simple to some. So why not post a few pics for anyone out there that may not have the confidence since Im going to be doing it anyway?

I just chopped mine for the second time. This time I cut the struts and added a under fender tail light from HD. Mine was a little more complicated as I have a custom model which I deleted the middle tail light. This involved a little more rewiring. The first time around I used a cutting wheel and this time I used a jigsaw with a fine tooth blade. The jigsaw worked much better and cut way cleaner. As always, measure twice and cut once. Good luck and post some pics when you are done!

Well I guess it's better I post an instructional thread rather than another one asking how to do it. Just trying to be helpful here folks. Anyways, I've started the project and will be posting up a few pics later.

Looks killer. I love to see people chop the C's instead of making look like old man bikes.
