That is interesting...I just replace both my front and rear pads with Lyndall Racing Brakes Z+ Carbon/Kevlar and the stopping power is better than my Hawk Organic pads on polished SS rotors, but my stock pads and rotors worked pretty darn good but can't definitely say it was better than Lyndalls. My front Hawk organic brake pads sucked when it rained...had difficulty stopping and it squealed loud (thankfully my rear Hawks were fine), but no problems with the front when dry - go figure.

I have stock rotors. I felt a big difference.

FWIW, I used both EBC 'HH' pads & rotors. After proper 'bedding in'
they feel great. Just a subjective opinion though...

What you noticed was the initial 'bite' of the sintered pads was gone; it was replaced by the lower initial bite and progressive feel of the organic pads. I'm a huge fan of Lyndall pads but I've become very accustomed to the progressive ramping up of the Lyndall pads through threshold/maximum braking practice and slow speed parking lot exercises.

The organic pads do provide a much better feel at the lever under heavy braking and as they keep ramping up you can more accurately modulate the lever for maximum braking control. The combination of the Arlen Ness Big Brake rotor and Lyndall pads has proven very effective and has shortened my maximum braking distances.

There are positives and negatives for both sintered and organic pads and each rider should decide what works best with their personal riding style. A good read comparing organics and sintered pads: http://powersports-blog.denniskirk.c...red-vs-organic

Just a bit more progress - got the new XL1200 primary gear & chain
installed using the '4" brass hinge' locking method. Also getting ready to
install the Energy One clutch & Muller power clutch. Going to
use the 'recommended' ATF Type-F tranny fluid to start with.

Went on a bender! Picked up the black forwards I've been eyeing for some time, the digital black oil temp / level stick, and went a bit nutty on eBay, fender covers, front and rear directionals, and mounts.

Motor mounts, SS braided cables, and other parts came in...ready for change.

Already lowered my bike using 11" Chrome Bitubo shocks from DK Customs. Fabricated my fairing brackets to accept HD quick-release windshield clamps for stability and ease. Will be installing beach bars with SS braided cables, DK custom Rocker lockers just for the heck of it (preventive), and having the dealership replace all my motor mounts and related parts under warranty.

A simple transformation.... We'll see if the new bar match my fairings....just want my hands closer to me so I can sit straight up and better utilize my backrest. Bending slightly forward is just killing my back....it is tuff getting old.
