02 sportster lifters
This has probably been covered but I want to get rid of lifter noise. All my old sportys were iron heads with solids and they were ALL quieter than this bike. I also want to use Zippers pushrod covers and Quickee pushrods and S & S lifters. I'm not taking top end down I'm using bolt cutter method. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks much

sportster lifters are normally pretty quiet..you may have a bad lifter though...so..you are thinking you are goiing to cut the tubes and the push rods and replace both along with the lifters...before I did all that I would buy some type of lifter quieter liquid product from the auto parts store that you mix with the oil...also I would check your oil pressure...are the lifters noisier at start up or after the motor is hot--or does it not matter....
